As one of the largest and most experienced suppliers of roll maintenance for metals producers in the US, SMS Millcraft has the services, facilities, resources, technologies and experience to keep rolls-from mold foot rolls to zinc pot rolls-running in peak condition. Using our extensive knowledge, we help US metals producers improve their productivity and products. With fourteen well-equipped service centers and partnerships with SMS Modern Hard Chrome and other SMS group companies, we can precision grind, arc clad, HVOF/plasma thermal spray coat, chrome plate and Electro-Discharge Texture (EDT) roll surfaces. Plus our exclusive 30- or 60-mm-wide strip cladding technologies produce overlays with superior characteristics that increase roll service life.
We also manufacture and recondition process line rolls and are one of a few producers of textured tread-plate rolls. Using sophisticated roll tracking systems and advanced equipment, we can provide and manage a turnkey roll maintenance shop for hot and cold rolling mills.
